97Vipers v Falcons, 0-2

January 24th, 2010

The Vipers faced the Falcons once again for the second time in the same day on Sunday afternoon. Having secured the early morning victory and believing they were going to cruise through with a victory  they were quickly mistaken. The Falcons with everything to gain came out aggressive and physical and applied continuous pressure throughout the entire game. The Vipers tried to adjust by showing short bursts with some very solid puck movement but could not find a way to breakthrough the great goaltending of the Falcons. Unfortunately, for the 2nd time this year  the Falcons trapped the Vipers and kept the shots down and secured  the 2-0  shut out! The moral of the story is that the Vipers need to understand that talent alone will not always win games. Any team can and will win on any given day. The Vipers now will put this one behind them and embark on the road to participate in the CHE tournament in Lake Placid this coming weekend. Team bonding and a little “miracle” potion should be the best medicine to get them back on track.
