08T1 Win Springfield Classic Tourney / U16 TIER 1 - NATIONAL BOUND

Vipers 08T Wins Springfield Pics Annual Fall Classic

 

The 08 Tier 1 Greater Boston Vipers swept their way to the tournament championship Thanksgiving weekend in Springfield.  On Friday, the Vipers cruised past the Rhode Island Saints of the Boston Hockey League (BHL) by a score of 8-2.  Saturday saw the Vipers go 2-0 with wins over the Greater Boston Junior Bruins of the Boston Hockey League (BHL) 4-1 and the Springfield Rifles of the Elite 9, 3-1. 

 

On championship Sunday, it was once again a match-up of EHF Tier 1 vs the E9 and the Vipers came out on top with a 6-4 victory over the Springfield Rifles Elite.

 

Congratulations to the players, coaches and parents on a bringing home the trophy and having a lot of fun this holiday weekend!

Parent Appreciation Night

The 8th annual Vipers Parent Appreciation Night at Kowloon Restaurant is scheduled for: Friday, November 17th, 2017 @ 6:30pm.  

  

Dinner and Entertainment will be provided by the Vipers.  Cash Bar.  Dinner will be served at 7pm which will be followed by a Comedy Show.  This is an adult-only event.

  

All Vipers on-ice events have been re-scheduled so that we can all have a night away from the rinks to relax and enjoy ourselves.  This event is always a lot of fun for the parents each year.

  

CASH PRIZE:  

  • Parents can submit their favorite joke to: vipers@vipersicehockey.com
  • The top 3 jokes submitted will be rated at the Comedy Night for a $100 cash prize.

We have partnered with a 501(c)3 Charity again this year with proceeds benefiting the Patrick Gill Scholarship that was started in 2015.  As most of you know, Patrick was an overwhelming personality on the 97Vipers and his memory will continue to help Vipers families for years to come.

We are celebrating our 16th year and excited for next season!  With strong tryout attendance and great coaching, we have continued to grow and strengthen each year.

08 Tier 1 wins Cyclones MLK Tournament, has strong showing in Top Gun Holiday Tournament and Springfield Pics Fall Classic / U16 TIER 1 - NATIONAL BOUND

The Vipers mite major team went 4-0 on the weekend at the Cyclones MLK Classic and won the Championship game 10-3 over the New England Jets.  The team started strong on Friday with an opening game 6-2 win over the New England Jets then followed up with a hard fought 3-2 win over the New England Bulldogs.  The Vipers finished the round robin with a 12-1 win over the New Hampshire Avalanche.

 

Earlier in the fall, Coach Russo and O’leary took their young squad to the highly competitive Springfield Pics Fall Classic and the Vipers had great success going 2-1-1 overall with wins over the Greater Boston Jr Bruins and New England Jr Falcons.  In the game of the tournament, the Vipers tied eventual tournament champion East Coast Express of New Brunswick Canada in a 1-1 classic.  After securing the number one seed, the squad lost in the semifinal 7-4 to the Assabet Valley Patriots Elite.

 

Over Christmas break, the 08’s made it to the finals of the Top Gun tournament where they fell to the Valley Jr Warriors Elite.  In round robin play, the team beat Advantage Ice and Marblehead while skating to a 3-3 tie vs East Coast Wizards Elite and 2-2 tie vs Top Gun Elite.

 

06AAA Team defended their title and won the Cyclones MLK Tourney with a 4-3 win over Long Beach Lightning
