The Avalanche came out strong and scored the first goal of the game within the first minute of the first period. The Vipers struck back with a wrap around goal from behind the net from Nick Sasso, assisted by Luke Roberts to make it 1-1. The Avalanche made it 2-1 at the end of the first period. The Vipers come out strong in the second period, but the Avalanche continued their offensive pressure and scored three goals in the second period to make it 5-2 in their favor after two periods. The Viper came out strong at the start of the third period with Ian Worthley scoring the Viper’s third goal of the game to make it 3-5. However, the Avalanche scored their 6th goal of the game less than two minutes later to make it 6-3 in their favor. The Avalanche continued their rushes to the net by picking up rebounds in front of the net and brought the score to 7-3 in their favor. The Vipers did counter in the third period with 2:20 left in the game to make it 4-7. The 4th goal of the game for the Vipers was scored by Jake Krajeski, assisted by Andrew Perry and Mark Aylward.
