The '97 Vipers got solid goaltending, played stingy defense, and converted several scoring opportunities on their way to a convincing 4-0 victory over the Nashua Panthers. The Vipers now stand at 12-6-4 in NEHL play.
Winger Pat Gill got things going midway through the first period, slamming home a rebound off a shot from defenseman Michael Bibbey. In period two, Bibbey assisted again but this time winger Will Bethune chipped in the rebound from his right wing spot for a 2-0 lead. Cam Balboni then worked his way through center ice, beat a lone defenseman and scored short-side for a 3-0 advantage. Before the second period ended, Michael Holmes kept battling for a loose puck and knocked in the Vipers fourth goal.
Goalie Kyle Boudrias was strong the entire game, especially during the third period, notching the complete game shut-out.
